The Channel islands, and particularly Jersey and Guernsey for larger yachts (up to 130m or so in Jersey with the picture showing a vessel of 90m alongside in St Helier, Jersey), makes a great base for superyachts and their owners, many of whom enjoy regular stopovers on a short and long-term basis.
On your arrival in St Helier or St Peter Port Harbour, you are delivered to the heart of the thriving historic capital. Step ashore and you’re only a few minutes stroll from some of the best food, wine, shops, fashions and events in bay of St Malo.
We’re proud of the fact that we are officially the sunniest location in the British Isles. Add this to the beauty of the Islands, the world class cruising ground on our doorstep and the excellent amenities waiting ashore and you have the perfect destination for your stopover.
The Channel Islands have so much to offer the visiting yacht. They are Crown Dependencies and as such are not part of the UK nor ever part of the EU. This in its own right has many benefits; Duty-Free or low-duty Marine Gas Oil, no VAT or low GST, and no other Government service taxes, fantastic transport links (daily flights to London, Southampton and Manchester) for a fast efficient crew change, daily ferry services to the UK and France, an understanding and helpful customs service and most of all a friendly and welcoming people.
A stop in either island provides Customs Endorsed Channel Islands Arrival, being a confirmed exit from the EU/UK, as is required for renewing any EU Temporary Admission VAT waiver.
